Industry’s First Virtualized Ethernet Probe Offers Efficient, Scalable Testing and Diagnostics for Multi-Tenant Environments
Sunnyvale, Calif. – September 23, 2014 — Software Defined Networking (SDN) and Network Function Virtualization (NFV) are taking on a dominant role in Cable and Telecom operator networks as they strive to lead the market and respond dynamically to subscribers’ needs for new services and applications. In response, Spirent Communications is unveiling today a virtualized distributed Ethernet probe—Spirent TestCenter Live Virtual Probe. In conjunction with the Spirent TestCenter Live platform, it allows operators to extend performance management to all points of their network and respond to the rapidly changing demands of the new virtual environments, as well as today’s fast-paced network operations conditions.
The Spirent TestCenter Live Virtual Probe gives service providers complete visibility into next-generation networks, allowing users to quickly isolate faults. The Spirent solution delivers active and passive monitoring capabilities for proactive network management to better manage and validate the performance of premium services.
“As the industry’s first, the new Spirent TestCenter Live Virtual Probe enables our mission of providing complete visibility into the entire network—virtualized or not,” said Pilar Somohano, General Manager, Service Assurance at Spirent Communications. “It integrates performance monitoring with diagnostic services so companies can proactively improve customer experience for traditional and new services.”
Spirent TestCenter Live Virtual Probe supplements the Spirent TestCenter Live suite, delivering an end-to-end solution with hardware-based and virtual probes for proactive network monitoring and quality of service management.
