The critical role of orchestration and automation in piecing Open RAN together

Open RAN (O-RAN) has made great progress to date with roughly 5-6% of the RAN market share, and that number is expected to rise to 15% or greater by 2025.

The biggest positive is the proliferation of the vendor ecosystem due to the open interfaces and the benefits that brings for innovation. The number of O-RAN vendors has grown from 5 or 6 to more than 40, providing all the different types of components throughout the O-RAN space.
